BSB Industrial Safety SystemsBSB Industrial Safety Systems

BS&B are the originator and world leader in Rupture Disk (Bursting Disc) Technology. Whether it is a standard product or a custom solution BS&B, together with POGC, can provide the right overpressure protection solution for your application. Below is a brief overview of what we can offer. Please contact us for more information and to hear about how we can provide the technical expertise to provide solutions to meet your requirements

Rupture Disks

Rupture DisksThe Reverse Buckling disk is the most advanced rupture disk (bursting disc) technology. Invented by BS&B, our reverse buckling range of products provides a pressure relief solution for burst pressures ranging from a few millibar to over 4800 bar.

Forward Acting (or conventional) rupture disks have been a well proven solution in process applications since BS&B developed the first bursting disc 80 years ago.

BS&B also offer a full range of Graphite Disks and Sanitary Rupture Disks to suit your application.

Buckling Pin Relief Valve (BPRV)

Buckling Pin Relief ValveBS&B developed the BPRV™ Buckling Pin Relief Valve for overpressure or vacuum relief requiring quick and simple external resetting. The BPRV is suitable for both gas and liquid applications, and provides a full relief opening at a preset pressure. Buckling Pin technology offers a reliable and accurate means of calibrating pressure relief devices.

Explosion Vents

Explosion Vents An explosion can result from an ignition of a combustible gas, vapour or dust when mixed with air during handling, processing, or storage operations. A rapid rise in pressure occurs in the containing structure. If it is not of adequate strength to withstand the pressure, extensive damage to plant and/or injury to personnel is likely to occur.
The BS&B Vent-Saf® explosion vents can protect industrial equipment including silos, dust collectors, cyclones, conveyers, dryers, and many more.

Explosion Suppression / Chemical Isolation

Explosion Suppression / Chemical IsolationBS&B IPD explosion suppression & Isolation systems use a lightweight, modular design to deliver extinguishing agents into a rapidly developing fire to suppress it before reaching destructive proportions. A typical IPD system consists of a Unitized Sensor, a Power Supply Module, a System Monitor and several Explosion Suppression "Cannons”.
The Cannon module thrusts the extinguishing agent into the rapidly developing fireball of an explosion. The purpose of the extinguishing agent is to extract heat from the developing fireball. For isolation applications where the discharge of suppressant into the process is unacceptable or a pressure isolating barrier is required, contact to us about Rapid Response Isolation Valves.

Spark Detection and Extinguishing (SparkEx)

Spark Detection and ExtinguishingThe BS&B Spark Detection and Extinguishing System, SparkEx, is designed to detect hot particles, sparks and flame that may become the ignition source for a fire or explosion if allowed to travel on through ducting and conveyors towards other materials handling equipment.  A few hot particles entering a dust collector dust are enough to trigger a dust explosion. Smouldering combustible solid conveyed into a storage silo can become the basis of a raging fire.

The SparkEx system uses infrared detectors to search for elevated temperature particles. The system operates in a continuous automatic mode with all of its critical circuits supervised to raise an immediate alarm in case of application difficulties.
