POGC Company Overview

POGC is an Australian owned company. It commenced business in 1972 as Process Oil & Gas Controls Pty Ltd and focused on supplying industrial instrumentation to the oil, gas, refining & petrochemical industries. Later it expanded its market to cover all the process and manufacturing industries including water and waste, pulp and paper, mining, power generation, food and pharmaceutical.

The POGC business was purchased by Halley & Mellowes Pty Ltd in July 1999 and was merged with the Halley & Mellowes process division to form a new company, POGC Sensor Technology Pty Ltd.

POGC's objective is to provide cost effective solutions for all industries by sourcing the most advanced on-line sensor technology available in the world. Today's process plants must optimise operations for maximum safety, product quality and production efficiency if they are to be competitive. Modern computerised process control systems cannot perform unless they receive reliable and accurate signals from their primary sensors.

POGC's main areas of expertise include:

Industrial overpressure protection - bursting discs, rupture vents & dust explosion protection systems.

  • Fire & gas protection systems for hazardous areas.
  • Industrial analysers:
    • Dewpoint / Moisture in hydrocarbons (-100°C[dp] to +20°C[dp], self calibrating)
    • Continuous Gas analysers (CO, CO2, H2S, Cl, NOx, SOx etc.).
    • Point toxic gas detection (H2S, O2, CO/CO2, Cl2, SO2, NO2 etc.).
    • Wobbe index analysers.
    • Physical property analysers (RVP etc).
    • Gas Chromatographs
  • Engineered systems including sample systems, system integration, analyser houses & shelters.
  • Flame scanners & igniters for burner/boiler control.
  • Oil in/on water detection and oil in soil detection.

Recently, POGC moved into a larger purpose fit out premises and workshop in Sydney, Perth, Gladstone and New Zealand to better support the oil and gas projects in the region.

Targeting the oil and gas industry, the company supplies specialty and niche instrumentation, having supplied equipment to most large oil and gas players including Woodside, Apache, ConocoPhillips, Shell, BP, Caltex
